Registered Clinical Counsellor in Whistler and Squamish, BC

Substance Use & Addiction · Teens & Families · Couples · Trauma & Attachment

My priority is to ensure that my clients feel safe, understood, and skillfully supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental atmosphere. I take a holistic approach to counselling which addresses the mind, body, and spirit. I work with adults, couples, teenagers and children across Whistler and Squamish, and I specialize in substance use and addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma and attachment, critical incident stress management, work/life balance, and grief and loss.

Some of what people bring me carries a lot of shame, and many arrive braced to be judged, having never said it out loud to anyone. That fear keeps people struggling alone far longer than they need to. Whatever you are carrying, you do not have to have reached a particular low point before you are allowed to ask for help.

My background is in Child and Youth Care, with both a Bachelor's and a Master's from the University of Victoria, so alongside my work with adults I also work with children, teenagers and their families. Distress rarely stays contained to one person, and often the most useful work happens with more than one person in the room.

I also work with couples. Most of the couples I see are not in crisis, they are stuck in the same conversation, having it again in a different room. My training in the Gottman Method means much of that work is practical: understanding the pattern underneath the argument, and building the communication tools to handle conflict, so it stops ending where it always ends.

My approach is respectful, encouraging, and goal-oriented. Clients tell me they appreciate my gentle, knowledgeable, and authentic style. I would be honoured to join you on your path of personal discovery, recovery, and transformation.

“Once you face your fear, nothing is ever as hard as you think.”
